I LOVE MIXING STYLES, PARTICULARLY ONES THAT CONTRADICT EACH OTHER.
A collared button-down with sweatpants and sneakers is the kind of balance I like to play with--mixing it up and pairing things with others that normally wouldn't be the first thing to come to mind. For me, though, it's starting to become that first thing.
I remember the day we went to shoot this, and it was my very first time in the Distillery District. It is, of course, perfectly picturesque (my goodness, those bricks) and so full of character: a fitting backdrop for me to tone down by adding a modern, not-too-serious look.
It was unusually cold that day (this was in October), and Graham and I had a good time stamping our feet in between shots. I might have been doing some high-knees, maybe even some foot-fires.
(My face has a tendency of looking serious--ask my sisters, and you will receive an affirmative answer).
